  • Dialog Telekom Head Office, Guest (guest) wrote 13 years ago:
My daughter's phone number was closed in October last year because she had not used it for one year. Her telephone Dialog Telephone Number is 771587726. She was down in Sri Lanka in March last year and I topped up her phone with Rs 5000. It is cheaper for her to use a local Denmark Sim instead of using the sri Lanka telephone, but she uses that phone whenever she comes to Sri Lanka. She is a Sri lankan Citizen and 18 years old. The phone is in my name. It appears according to Varuna at the Dialog outlet at Odel that the phone has been allocated to a dealer in the North and East. If the phone is used for illicit and nefarious purposes, the number is known to 359 friends of hers and she is accountable even though the phone was given to someone else. Furthermore, it is downright thoughtless and irresponsible on the part of the TRC to authorise Dialog to transfer the phone which is the property of someone else, just because they have not used the phone, especially when there is a credit balance of Rs 5000 unused on the phone. The same situation occurred with my phone 777726113 which while having a balance of Rs 2890 odd was cancelled and I was advised that the phone could not be used past the 14th of January. Varuna then attempted to refresh the machine and was given until the 15th of January to do what??? You cannot transfer your money from a post paid to a prepaid, and vice versa!. What madness is this?? My other phone which has a new sim because I purchased a new phone has a sum of Rs 500 and is valid until the 1st of Decembe 2012. This is completely insane! The purchase of the third phone was because I went to the Odel Dialog centre to pay my bills and had left my phone on the counter. The accounts clerk put the phone in his cupboard and went away on leave for 3 weeks. I went there to ask them whether my phone was at their centre. They said No. The other members of staff did not know about the phone in the cupboard and that phone was the one that had the 2,890 on it. So I purchased another phone to utilise the 2890 because they advised that I could not transfer the money from phone to phone!. I want my daughter's phone returned immediately and the second phone renewed with its 2890. I also want you to please rectify these faiings with regard to the phones immediately. You are promoting, theft, dishonesty and downright personal safety threats to very young people merely because they are overseas studying since Sri Lanka is denying them of this facility as well, a proper education. I am a teacher and I address these issues about the kids education all the time! Furthermore, there is a rampant business for dialog in the sale and resale of sims and phones. The thief can utilise the phone with a new sim. This promotes the robbery of mobile phones.
